Jimmy Page

Here is the bio of the guitarist from LZ.

On January 8, 1944 James Patrick Page was born. He grew up on a farm that his great uncle owned near Northampton. When he was eight his father moved them to the London suburbs.
When Page was thirteen his parents bought him a Spanish guitar and he picked it right up. Page only took about six lessons he was just as good as his teacher. What he really liked about the guitar was that they didn't teach in school, it was something that he could teach himself.
After graduating from school Page applied for a job as a laboratory assistant. Before his applications could be looked over he accepted an invitation to be the guitarist in a band called Neil Chrisian and the Crusaders.
Page was very well off concering his equipment. He was one of the first guys with a foot pedal and he played one of the best kind of guitars for those days, a Gretsch guitar.
Neither though he got very recoginized while he was in Neil Christian and the Crusaders he didn't like them very much because they made him do a lot of publicity stunts.
So after a while he quit the band and he went back to his first love, art. So he enrolled in Art College. He only attended for eightteen months though.

Page had to make a decision about which path he should follow, he art path or the music path. A club named the Marquee influenced his decision a lot. A real good band, Blues incorporated is what made the club get popular. This led to many frequent 'jam sessions' in the club. There was still a lot of traditional jazz that no one liked.
But one night of the week their was a 'jam session' revolving around Blues Incorporated. Very soon Page found himself on the stage of the Marquee. While Page was up on stage Eric Clapton saw him preform and he liked him. Page and Clapton got to have a conversation together and they became very good friends.
After Blues Incoporated stoped playing Page went on. After a while he hooked up with three other guys and played at the Marquee and at another club called the Crawdaddy Club. Then Page got a invitation to play for a single. The song was a very minor hit but it got him more recoginzed. Because of this song he was getting so many offers that he couldn't handle them.
The first number one record that Page played was with Tony Meehan. He played rhythem guitar because Meehan found out that he couldn't read music.
After Page learned how to read and write music a became a session guitarist. He became a very big name in the music business. With this he made his decision that art college was over

The information that i got for this bio comes from the book The Led Zeppelin Biography by Ritche Yorke.
